The Difference

...(cont'd from Home page) into knowledge.

Knowledge is the know-how. If a student never obtains the know-how, they haven’t learned.  But one step further, the student must also learn how to retain the knowledge they have acquired.

We help students develop the ability to capture information and recall it when it is wanted or needed.  Taking in consideration each student’s individual needs, we offer students a different way to learn.

In instruction, we begin to engage students where they are, by using different learning modalities, by appealing to differing interest, and by using varied rates of instruction and varied degrees of complexity.  We ensure that a student competes against himself as he grows and develops.

We do not assume that one student’s road map is identical to another, yet all students are held to high standard in learning. The struggling, advanced, and the average student is encouraged to work harder than they meant to; achieve more than they thought they could.  We teach them that learning involves effort, they must take the risk, and in the end they will gain personal triumph. We ask what it will take to modify an instruction so that each student reaches a level of readiness in understanding and skills that offer guidance to the next phase of learning
